This year’s event will be held on October 16, 2021 9am-4pm
Growing Equity in Science & Technology (GEST) is a collaborative event intended to expose female high school students and students of color who are often underrepresented in STEM fiels (9th-12th grades) to STEM resources, role models, and activities in Eastern North Carolina (ENC). GEST began as a one-day event for middle schoolers at the Duke University Marine Laboratory. Because interest in GEST surpassed the maximum participation capacity, the University of North Carolina Institute of Marine Sciences is now offering a similar one-day program for high school students. We are bringing together researchers from a number of STEM institutions in ENC to inspire our attendees to become our next generation of scientists and engineers.
Registration is not open yet for 2021
